I was born in Germany in 1966 and migrated to Australia in 1983. My wife and I have been living in Rockdale since 1994 when we bought our house here. We have four children.
Rockdale and the surrounding suburbs have really grown on me over the years. I have walked just about every street and alley within two and a half kilometers walk of my house and I ride my bicycle all over the St George area and beyond. I love the amenities and parklands and many of the streetscapes. The area is close enough to the city to easily get there, yet far enough away to have a little bit more space than the inner suburbs. It makes me sad that for most young home buyers this area is now out of reach and I am angry that both major parties have colluded in bringing this situation about.
