I was born in Germany in 1966 and migrated to Australia in 1983. My wife and I have been living in Rockdale since 1994 when we bought our house here. We have four children.
I have been involved in politics in a minor way for years. Before 2016, this amounted essentially to writing letters to newspapers and to members of parliament. But in 2016 I decided to step up my involvement. I contested the federal electorate of Barton as an independent. I achieved 2.55% which wasn't as much as I had hoped for but enough to avoid embarrassment.
Since then I have been involved in various local environmental issues. What I have learned is this: When you take on big challenges, you don't always win, but sometimes you do. I am very proud to be a member of and have campaigned with Save Barton Park. We fought to save from development a huge amount of public green space known variously as "Barton Park" and "Cooks Cove South". And we won!
I feel strongly about climate change and have another site on climate change and climate action generally. However the Carbon Capture and Storage issue is not getting nearly enough attention so I thought I would make a site just for that.
